In 2010, the Finnish government combined the three schools into one university with the goal of promoting innovation. The university is the second largest in Finland, consisting of six schools, with approximately 17,500 students and 4,000 staff members.
The Ministry of Education and Culture funds the national Finland Scholarship program, which includes the Finland scholarships given out by Aalto University. The Finland Scholarship initiative is available from 2022 to 2024.
The Finland Scholarship pays students all living expenses for the first year of study, including 5000 euros (€) for relocation. The scholarship is provided as a tuition price remission.
After the student arrives in Finland and registers as an attending student at the university, the 5,000 euros are sent to a Finnish bank account. The scholarship of five thousand euros is awarded just once, in the first year of study.
